Ascent Trip Report

Finally hit the GA high point! I started on the Jack's Knob trail at 180 and blasted up to the top of South Wolfpen Ridge and into the Walmart sized parking lot below the Brasstown Bald summit. I jogged up and down the paved trail to the Brasstown summit and then had to decide what to do with the rest of my hike. First off I decided to do Chimneytop so I set out on the Arkaquah Trail and met my first rattlesnake since moving to the south! Not long after, I bushwhacked up to the scrubby summit, snapped a photo and booked it back to the parking lot.

Ultimately, I wanted to head up the Wagon Trail and hit Double Knob, but I decided to bag it on account of the extra distance and the bushwhack to the summit. It felt pretty good to not upgrade one of my peakbagging trips to deathmarch status, it's been a while...
