Day 1 of 2 day trip to Anza Borrego for Jacumba Mtn and Sombrero Peak.
More or less via DPS Route B with the variation that rather than heading west out of the first main gully about 2/3 of the way up it(at about 2,300'), we instead continued south in the gully to its head at around 2,500' before veering west. We followed the traditional west gully coming out, and it seemed it was much more rugged than the approach we chose going in.
Pretty standard hike after that; obvious ridgeline route to the summit, plenty steep, good and hot out there. Ocotillo and Cholla in bloom.
