Ascent Trip Report

Edward of course wanted to "Earlize" this one and I was cool with that. We parked about a half mile away at a small community park between Lakes Josephine and Florence.

Edward pointed out a second 300 ft contour that he found on the map, near the intersection of 101st St and 109th Ave (NW of the known point). We investigated it and both believe that it is lower than the area of Paine. It appeared to me that the point on 101st had been leveled for a homesite.

We poked around the intersection of Matthews/Paine and tagged everything that looked likely. We couldn't tell for sure but we thought the base of a tree on the NW corner might be highest.

With time to kill until the next ferry, we visited Anderson Marine Park on the S end of the island. It is a pleasant walk of about a mile RT to a beach at the mouth of a creek.
