Ascent Trip Report***Sierra Club Outing***

I hadn't been feeling particularly well for a couple of weeks prior to this weekend trip to Death Valley, and the effort at getting up Dry Mtn the day before our shot at Tin Mtn pretty much did me in. I did give it a shot though, and managed to get up as far as the top of the alluvial fan, to where it lies against Tin Mtn proper, but just the sight of the steep terrain from this point further was enough for me to throw in the towel. Because this was an official Sierra Club trip my bail blew the outing for the rest of the participant(2 leaders required on a Sierra Club outing), but the two participants who were attempting this peak with us quickly and without protest followed me back down. Hengst continued on to get the peak, and reported that it was snowing a little on top.
