Ascent Trip Report

I took forest road 9020 from exit 38 to the intersection of McClellan Butte Trail 1015, saving 1.5 miles and 800ft of elevation. We got to the peak in an hour and forty minutes without any slowdowns, the snow that stopped our last attempt was all but melted away, leaving the trail clear and easy to navigate. A friendly fellow hiker who also had a dog was kind enough to watch Maverick as I scrambled to summit. I have never seen Mt Baker so clearly south of Marysville before and had a perfect view of my previous peaks. After snapping a few pics we headed back and dropped down through some brush and a talus field to a service road, which led us up to a dead end at a western peak. From there we went back southeast past Alice Lakes and to a southern peak which gave an incredible view of Chester Morse. I debated heading to Mt Kent from there, but it was getting late, so we headed back.
