Ascent Trip Report***Private Outing***
led by Matt Hengst, Neil Robbins
Matt's 2nd E-rock Provisional Outing. We spent three days in Arizona and California bagging peaks including Baboquivari Peak, Mount Ajo, and Picacho Peak.
We intended to climb Cerro del Pinacate in Mexico on the 2nd day of Matt's E-Provisional trip as a private climb, but were turned back at the Mexican National Park due to their advice that the area was unsafe due to drug cartel activity in the area.
We opted for Mount Ajo, located back in the US instead. Route up was via a sometimes vague trail over sometimes loose and steep terrain. Exited via the first major gully north of the summit for a vigorous bushwacking experience.
