Ascent Trip ReportWith Jodi. Really well-maintained trail (thanks AMC!). Great family hike or starter for beginners. Lots of big sloping rocks to walk up, so should be avoided when too wet or icy. Otherwise, pretty moderate hike that gives you the option of continuing on to the summit of closely neighboring Dickey Mountain, which I definitely recommend for its views of Franconia Ridge and Franconia Notch. The other really nice thing about these two small mountains are the alpine gardens at the summits and lower ridges, some of which had beautiful manmade rock and deadfall log borders to preserve the plants by keeping people on a specific path.
