Ascent Trip ReportJoy & Justin met Laura and I in Woodstock and we rode up to the trailhead. The day was beautifully clear and cool. The temperatures at the base were around 40. We took the Starr King Trail up stopping briefly a few times. There was a bit of snow on the ground and a little ice making it a little bit slippery. There were a few others on the mountain, but we had the trail mostly to ourselves. We stopped at the summit of Starr King to have a quick snack and take in the phenomenal views of the presidentials. After getting to the summit of Starr King the rest of the group turned back. Joy was having a bit of trouble with her footwear. I jogged over to the summit of Waumbek and back, catching up with them about half way down from Starr King.
After a nice day hiking we went back to the house showered and went out for dinner at Common Man and drinks at Truants.
