Ascent Trip ReportHiked up the well-maintained Bonanza trail from the trailhead about 3 miles south of the community of Cold Creek. These last 3 miles to the trailhead is on dirt road that is a bit rough in spots. A high clearance vehicle is helpful, but probably not necessary. There was an inch a snow on the trail much of the way up from a storm two days previous.
The trail switchbacks up to the crest of the Spring Mtns, then follows the ridge SE towards Bonanza Peak. Great views both east and west along the ridge. Just as the trail begins to drop to the SW underneath the peak, I left the main trail and followed a use trail along the ridge for half a mile to the summit.
