Ascent Trip Report

There is only one word I could use to accuratley describe this sad unprepared attempt at La Plata Peak, that word is pathetic. To start things off we arrived at the TH at about 3 pm so I was already sceptical that it was going to happen but we decided it anyways. A quarter mile into the trail one of the three members of our group wanted to sleep because he was drunk. So we told him not to move and that we would be back much later which he was ok with. The other two of us were fine and had not drank. We continued on the trail and then all of a sudden the trail ends. Confused we began bushwacking upwards which came to an end after about 45 minutes when I decided I didnt feel like wandering around the woods trying to find the car in the middle of the night so utilizing the sunlight we hiked back, picked up our friend and hiked back to the car. On the way back to the car what are we fortunate enough to find? The trail because somehow we went the wrong direction and turned off the trail... Now we know for next time.
