Ascent Trip ReportTook about 10 minutes to drive up the road and find the pre-determined TH on Davidson Lake Rd. Just before the parking spot coming down one of the hills - off in the distance you can see on top of the hill the large subdivision flag at the gazebo - very impressive. There is still nobody at the guard gate. I arrived and took off running-walking at 5:20PM summitted, took photos and was back at the car by 5:30PM. Winded but satisfied - this is one of the more impressive little county HP peaks in MI.
I chose to open field the mowed terrace to the gazebo and the views to the farms and lake below are quite nice. I found a very steep trail to final top that was very steep and took it for the tiny fraction of of time of feeling like I was actually climbing something. The flag at the gazebo was fluttering around and making some spectacular photo opportunties that I captured then ran back to the car to go to peak number three. A lot to do before sunsets. |
