Ascent of Kendall Peak on 2012-09-15
|Date:||Saturday, September 15, 2012|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5784 ft / 1762 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe GPX has the direct approach from the Commonwealth Basin Trail, skipping the extra 1.1 miles from the PCT. It cuts off the PCT at the stump/cairn for the route that Smoot recommends to the summit. On the way back, we followed the ridge on mostly class 2 and 3 terrain, except for the last 10 feet back to the PCT where we had a class 4 downclimb (with a crowd from Kendall Katwalk hikers onlooking).
Also visited the Katwalk on the way out.
