Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Russell Mountain is the 5th highest named summit in Missouri. It is easy to summit since its highest point is just a few dozen yards north of county road CC along the road to Taum Sauk Mountain, the highest point in the state. The summit consists of a nice open area with a series of flat bedrock slabs, however, there is no view of the surrounding terrain due to trees. A communication tower is located just to the west of the high point.
