Ascent Trip ReportMy son, Marshall, and I parked on the west side of Horton Hill for our entry point into the woods, just north of a posted fenced area, but there were no posted signs nor fences where we began our climb. We hiked a little over half a mile through light to moderate vegetation where we found a good ATV trail. The highest point on Horton Hill seemed to be on this trail, which we then followed part way to Bald Knob, the adjacent peak to the northwest. When the ATV trail turned to the northeast we bushwhacked west to the top of Bald Knob with little difficulty. Instead of retracing our ascent route, we simply continued hiking straight west back to the road we drove in on and then had an easy walk south to our car. This route seemed like it might be a slightly easier ascent route for anyone wishing to bag both peaks in the same trip.
