Ascent Trip ReportDrove down S1 to Burnt Ranchera Campground, a nice one. Hiked nature trail to east to PCT. Took PCT south to Morris Ranch Road. Followed dirt road east to gated road leading between two small bumps and down to a meadow just west of peak. Went north to edge of meadow and up through thick chapparel to reach top. Took HPS trail I found down to meadow and then did a right turn (wrong) looking for road till north end of meadow again. Lost compass and had to go back till found dirt road out only a few hundred feet to left of where HPS trail ended. Rest of way out was easy. Better to have 7.5 minute topo for this hike. |
