Ascent Trip ReportWas AMAZING! Frightening, but amazing. I was very wary of doing the ascent because of neck and back problems that I had at the time, but I'm glad that Matt convinced me to do it. Zion National park was very beautiful. Rippling, rust colored rocks rippled towered over us throughout most of the trail, and the view was breath taking. The top part of the trail was a bit unsettling, as the very narrow trail dropped-off on both sides, revealing freeways and rocks that were thousands of miles below us. During some of the more dangerous parts of the trail we were able to hold onto chains but it was terrifying to think of loosing my grip on them. Once we reached the peak my fear was forgotten and I stood mesmerized by the breathtaking view. All in all the trial was challenging but well worthwhile! |
