Ascent Trip ReportI turned off CA 120 onto FSR 1S06 about 1 mile SE of Mono Mills, following signs and the road systems shown on the Inyo NF map to FSR 1S13 and 1S05. From the locked gate (about 8 miles from CA 120), it is a pleasant walk of about 0.75 miles climbing above the trees and along the lengthy, open ridge to Bald Mountain and the L.O. on top. The L.O. appeared to be in good shape, but was not staffed today. It was easy to spend half an hour here taking in the grand Sierra view. I returned to CA 120 via Crooked Meadows Rd |
