Ascent Trip Report

Drive the Johnsville-Eureka Lake Rd, which turns a bit rough for the last mile. From the lake it is a pleasant, straightforward hike by trail, which heads for the top of the ridge near the prominent crags overlooking Eureka Lake. Don't miss taking the short detour to North Peak Once on the ridge, the trail curves westerly to the rockpile summit, surrounded by brush (no problem). Great views today of many northern Sierra peaks. Leaving the summit, the three of us continued on the trail along the ridge, then downhill to circle back to the trail we had ascended earlier
