Ascent Trip Report

This was a Sierra Peaks Section trip led by George Toby and Jon Inskeep. On day one, we backpacked in about 11 miles and set up camp at Lake 10,162', which is located below Gray Peak. On day two, the group climbed Grey Peak via its class 2 north ridge. Next, we dropped down from the peak to about 10,600' in elevation, then contoured over to the base of Mount Clark, then climbed up the peak's Northeast Face route to the top. The leaders set up a belay at an exposed crack and chimney just below the summit, which was the only 4th class on the route. On day three, the group backpacked out to the vehicles. Trip stats includes an ascent of Grey Peak.
