Ascent Trip ReportRandy, John and I backpacked from Whitney Portal to Grass Lake and set up camp. Later, we day hiked south from the lake up a slope, put on crampons and got the ice axes out, then made a left turn and climbed up a snow filled chute to the summit plateaus, where we left the ice gear, then hiked over to the summit. Afterwards, we returned to camp for the night, then backpacked out to the trailhead next day. |
