Ascent Trip ReportAfter my visit to Horse Ridge L.O. on South Fork Mountain I continued on FR 23 for 10 miles on good dirt road to a saddle with signs to Cedar Gap and Horse Ridge L.O. (from where I had come) and to Pickett Peak L.O. and CA 36. Shortly beyond the saddle an unsigned dirt road leads to Pickett Peak and the unstaffed L.O. in about 1 mile. The L.O. is a steel structure with 5 flights of stairs leading to the closed catwalk and shuttered cab. I returned to FR 23 and continued 6 miles on paved road to CA 36.
