Ascent Trip ReportThe little sister to Craggy Dome and Craggy Pinnacle, this peak is known as Craggy Flats or Craggy Gardens, and it has a subpeak called Craggy Knob. To avoid confusion, they ought to call this one Craggy Bald--it has 20 acres of grassy meadows with outstanding views to the south and west.
From the BRP Craggy Gardens Visitors Center, follow the Craggy Gardens trail toward the picnic grounds for 0.25 miles. Just before the large trail shelter, turn L and head up through the balds another 0.2 miles to the highest open field. The HP is somewhere under the rhododendron--my nominee is a large boulder about 50 feet into the thicket.
