Ascent Trip Report

This was day 3 of a 9 day backpack trip to climb 8 peaks located along the King-Kern Divide that are on the SPS list. Starting from our camp at Lake South America, our group day hiked Mount Genevra via its class 1-2 east slope and descended via its class 1-2 west slope on the way to Mount Jordan. Later, we climbed Mount Jordan via its East Slope Route, at first going up its east slope and then a chute, then traversing on ledges and rock up to the notch located between the peak's north and south summits. From there, Dan belayed Asher across the 4th class step across and then up to the top of the summit block, then Asher belayed each of us up/down the summit. Stats for this day hike include ascents of both Mount Genevra and Mount Jordan from Lake South America. Please see my 08-18-1994 Thunder Mountain trip report for additional trip stats and info.
