Ascent Trip ReportThe trail is easy to follow and despite a couple short flat sections, it mostly maintain a moderate uphill climb. Near the TH you walk by a chainlink fence on the side of the Lakeview Neurorehabilitation Center that unfortunately has their dumpsters right on the other side. On a hot July day like this with no wind, the smell as you go by is not pleasant. The cabin on the summit was locked, so I stayed on the top platform with a guy named Jesse who had just come up from the other side and he pointed out some other local peaks to me. I was surprised has close we were to the border with Maine here. Once the breeze had dried my shirt and I'd taken a couple pictures, it was time for the easy walk back to the truck. Compared to the paved road walk up Mount Prospect and the walk across the picnic area at Milan Hill, both the day before, this was a real hike. |
