Ascent Trip Report

Since a long time, I heard a lot of good thing about Kathadin, the famous Knife edge , the wonderfull view point.

Today, I'm finally on this path early in the morning, at 3:00 o'clock in the night close to the gate. we are the 12. It's really important to arrive really early to be sure to climb because the accept a limited hiker by day in the park.

We started from the ranger station on the Chimney pond trail at 6:30. After, we cross on the Cathedral trail to ascent the three cathedral. The denivelation are really important, you need to use your hand, it's really vertical. This area it's more scrambling than hiking. After the tird cathedral, the main summit are really close.

We are very lucky, the wheather are really nice, blue sky,big sunshine ... We are the first group on the top, the ambianceare magic ! After we follow the terrific Knife edge trail to Pamola peak and we cross on Helon Taylor trail trough the ranger station.
