Ascent Trip Report

After descending South Massive to the saddle, we met up with the main Massive trail, and all the crowds coming down from the summit. Having a trail up Massive made the final climb easy compared to the scramble up South Massive, even with bands of hail moving through the area. We made the summit only half an hour after leaving the saddle, and relaxed knowing the long slog back to the trailhead was all that remained between us and the cold beer waiting in the cooler. After a full day of hiking up Massive's southern highpoints, the hike down was long and tiring, but thankfully the excellent trail made it more palatable. Overall, it was a great day; tiring, long, but extremely rewarding. They don't call it Massive for nothing.
