Ascent Trip ReportArriving late the evening before I got a late start from American Alpine Club Climbers Camp. I was greeted by a "Grizzly Bear & Cubs in Area" sign on bridge, on a beautiful but breezy morning. Camp to upper basin & turn around @ 9,500', where it was extremely windy, overcast & dropping barometric pressure. After considering options I decided to turn around so, I lunched and watched skiers, climbers & hikers above me for nearly an hour. Middle Teton's basin was still under deep snow, but the "Black Dyke was an easy, distinct landmark. All in all, no summit, but a beautiful day in the Tetons. |
