Ascent Trip ReportThe trail started out steep right away, but the cool temp and moss-covered trees made it quite enjoyable. I am working on my endurance and this hike was definitely assistance in that effort. :)
Sammy was fun to watch as he is barely taller than the vegetation growing on each side of the path. So as he walked the path, his ear tips would 'rotate' out of the way as he brushed passed anything that touched them. I love my dog... :))))
We made it to the summit where there is an old fire lookout. As Sammy burrowed himself a nice, cool spot to lay in, Eric and I checked out the fire lookout. Eric pointed out to me the telephone wire that is still attached at the top of the lookout and explained that someone would have had to carry it up the mountain and how heavy the wire would have been. It's interesting to think about how things used to be done back in the day.
All in all the hike was great exercise and I love the moss-covered tress and the coolness they offer. |
