Ascent Trip ReportDrive in from the N towards Slab Camp. USFS land and car suitable road. At Slab Camp turn back to the L and quickly you'll pass the somewhat inconspicuous Ned Hill trail sign on the R. No designated parking. Hike the brief and somewhat steepish trail up to the top. Trail doesn't seem to get a lot of use but it is in fine shape. Could stand a little brushing I guess. Summit has the remains of the old lookout tower which appears about ready to fall down. True summit is hard to tell in flattish forest. No real views but forest is pleasant. Would make a good offseason hike, although it is a bit short by itself. The trail does not appear on my older map in TOPO but does show on the acme map and Green Trails. |
