Ascent Trip Report

I didn't even figure out what I wanted to do until 3:30pm, but the days are getting long and I was able to get in a couple of nice hikes before dark, including one on snow, which of course wasn't South Tiger.

North South Tiger is higher, but South South Tiger has the benchmark. There is a register on SST, like the one on Wilderness Peak, the highest point of Cougar Mountain, but it had come off the tree and the tupperware was broken and the lid of the jar, which once held a register and now holds trash, was rusted through. To get this register back up and running one would need to bring nails, tupperware, a jar, and a notebook.

There are faint use trails leading to both summits, but they are faint enough that I just bushwhacked to the tops and used them to get back to the road, when ends at the saddle between the two. There are faint trails coming off both the north and south sides of North South Tiger.

I saw two hikers and a bicyclist on my approach and one group of about 11 and three bikers on my way out. Most of the crowds, of course, head elsewhere in the forest.
