Ascent Trip ReportWhile some people reported a round trip of 6 hours, hiking with a girl who has never climbed a mountain before added two, for a total of 8 hours up and down.
Roughly you ascend 900 m of this mountain's vertical face. The first 300 was from the trailhead to the lough. The next 300 m was from the lough up to the saddle. The last 300 m was from the saddle to the summit along the ridge.
The river crossings of old now have bridges over them now. The summit is clearly marked by the cross. There is a small stone enclosure to protect you from inclement weather. There was heavy mist and chilling wind when we made it to the top--visibility was only a few feet. Rain came by 3pm.
