Ascent Trip Report

The Born Again Hikers did it! We made it to the top of Mt San Jacinto ~14 hrs after starting off at the Palm Springs Art Museum. Reaffirmed our motto: the pain is temporary, the pride permanent!
Some facts about the Skyline Trail (also known as the Cactus to Clouds Trail): The trail is known as having the greatest elevation gain of any one-day hike in the continental US. The route crosses through 6 ecosystems, the most of any one-day hike in the lower 48 states. The hike starts in the Lower Sonoran Zone and ends in an Arctic Alpine Zone. It is like hiking from Mexico to Canada in one day.
Total of 23 miles in 18 hours with an elevation gain of 10,500 feet
