Ascent Trip ReportThis is what highpointing can come to. After dark in thick mist and drizzle in a built-up area. I suppose it was a flat-topped hill with views once, but there’s a good reason that Crowborough is excluded from the surrounding High Weald AONB now.
First hacking around the reservoir and transmitter compound looking for the trig point (behind a building) and ascending the many man-made high points. Second using GPS to locate the ‘natural’ high point as best as one can by wandering around on Warren Road (apparently it’s opposite Deepdene but none of it is very natural). At least the Morrisons in Crowborough furnished me with cheap fuel and food.
