Ascent Trip ReportI followed Eric Klasson's TR with greeat success. S
I drove in from Dolan Springs and turned on 5th St which is dirt. Stay stright on this road for 4.4 mile snad then take the left fork that goes left about at a 45 degree angle. At 4.7 miles go through the closed gate and stop here if you have a low clearance vehicle. The last 1.2 miles of the drive in is definitely for high clearance vehicles. You don't need 4WD, just high clearance.
When you reach the end of th road, hike the road. The road goes through the Lower Indian Sping and continues on the other side. Go up the creek about 30 ft and then exit. Follow the road until you are at the high point just east of point 4288. At this point it is cross country towards the saddle that you can't see behind point 5313. Aim for the east side of 5313 and then drop into the wash.
Stay in the bottom of the wash all the way up to the saddle, then climb the steep slope up to the west ridge leading to Tipton. I tried to follow Eric's advice and stayed at or near the top of the ridgeline heading up towards the summit. Above 6,500 ft the brush eases some and it is a nicer climb through a pine forest and through boulder fields all the way to the summit. Views are good. I could see from Lake Mead to Kingman.
