Ascent Trip Report

Arrived the night before and stayed in West Memphis preparing for our trip to sample the state parks of Arkansas, grab a few state park highpoints, a few county highpoints, and of course, the state HP. We awoke to 32F. By the time we hit the trailhead it was 40F.

County HP obtained by maintenance road up to radio towers. This site has about as many towers (really tall towers) that I have ever seen. The views were respectable. I did not see any postings from the road which appeared to be a public road with no gates. Once we were down I noticed the sign had been laid down on the ground facing down. In either we walked the paved road and did not go anywhere near any of the towers. I decided on the way down to scramble up the nearby peak on the adjacent mountain (Bear Den Peak).
