Ascent Trip ReportSecond Attempt on this Mountain. A tremendous amount of blowdown and when I started after 8:00AM I did not leave sufficient time considering the length of the bushwhack. I could see the ridge that leads to the summit but to leave the stream bed and underground water sounds at this late time of the day 3:00 I would never have sufficient time to find the trail down and negotiate a return before dark. Giving up the summit was extremely difficult, and I knew I needed a GPS unit to complete this quest and to have any chance of getting back to the car in a single day. As it was the last mile was completed in the dark. |
