Ascent Trip Report

Hike number 4/51 completed! Peak number 47. We were on our way to Florida to visit family and swung by this peak on the way. After doing RI and now Delaware's highest peak I have this false feeling that hiking the US 51 states is going to be any easy task. We need a mountain to slap us back into reality, and understand not every peak is a walk down the sidewalk, a whole trivial 5 ft gain, or a ten minute adventure. Although the peak offered no views and you can hardly say it was a hike it feels good to check another "mountain" off the to-do list! We have been taking a signature photo at every high point where we snap a picture to make it look like we are falling off the peak. It is always fun to set the picture up, and Delaware proposed an interesting challenge as the peak literally is a sign and a park bench off of a suburban sidewalk. So Joe and I did the best we could, and our corny photo has us clinging to the park bench in shear fear that we will fall All 442 feet, the highest point in Delaware!!!
