Ascent Trip ReportI took Fire Tower Road 0.3 mi. to a long driveway that heads toward the peak. The homeowner graciously allowed me to park there and traipse through his property. I headed downhill toward the trail through the Roaring Run Natural Area, but discovered that the trail didn't get me any closer to the peak, so I headed uphill from the trail, using a combination of access roads, use trails, and bushwhack. Houses and hunter's cabins dot the woods here and there but it's easy to skirt well around them. On my return and bushwhacked on a GPS heading to my start point. |
