Ascent Trip ReportFrom Gießenbach on a Nice Road up to Eppenzirler Alm and Eppenzirler Scharte at the beginning of a A/B Via Ferrata. Not really difficult but challenging with a Heavy Pack. Took me about an Hour from the Saddle to the Summit. Summit Cross and Register with Great Views. Soon after I left the Summit and went down the Standard Route to the Solstein Hut where I had planned to stay Overnight. Unfortunately this late in the Season all Huts and Alps are closed and Water is difficult to get along the Way. Last Water Source for today was below Eppenzirler Alp and not enough to get me through the Evening and Night therefore I skipped my Overnight Stay at Solstein Hut and went down further to catch Water. Also not a Good Decision as I had to Bivy out in the open Forest instead of a comfy winter Hut. http://rblr.co/OgQzK |
