Ascent Trip Report***HPS Outing***
Led by Jennifer Washington, Gary Schenck
Originally intended to include Hawes, Little Shay, Ingham, and Shay as a loop hike, the slow speed of our group only allowed us to get three of the peaks - Shay Mtn wasn't summited by the bulk of our party. Very un-inspiring peaks over less than beautiful terrain; no shade, all cross country, abundant deadfall. One of our party had to abort and head back to cars shortly after getting Hawes Peak enroute up the steep to Little Shay. These three peaks have firmly established themselves as front runners on my "least favorite peaks" list - which, BTW, didn't exist until I did them. Mileage and gain include all three peaks.
