Ascent Trip ReportThis peak is known as Captains Chair to skiers.
We parked at the Johnson Pass trailhead and skied across Sixmile Creek and up Lynx Creek to a NW facing basin. We skied up as high as possible and then booted the last 1400 vertical up a 40-45 degree snow gully. A couple of short rock moves on the ridge and we are standing on the summit. We skied down the NW face of the peak back (to the climbers left of the gully we ascended) into the basin we had skied up. Awesome powder!!! The weather was not the best when we skied this so I didn't take any photos, but on the 15th of March, 2013 I skied Captains Chair again and here are some photos from that day:
