Ascent of Big Baldy Mountain on 2011-09-04
|Date:||Sunday, September 4, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Big Baldy Mountain|
| Elevation:||9177 ft / 2797 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThis hike was relatively easy. We started at the junction of 3328 and 753. 3328 is a good dirt road, anything but a sports car would make it. A generally gradual ascent up an ATV trail (753), then a slightly steeper trek up a Dirt Bike trail (733) to the top.
We went down to Rhoda lake to do some fishing. We dropped off the saddle to the North of Big Baldy, and came back up a trough just South of Big Baldy. Neither route was very easy, be prepared for some rock scramble on fairly loose scree.
