Ascent Trip Report

North Early Winter Spires- SW Couloir and Face

Pitch 1: 5.4 Scramble up to tree, then walked to underneath giant chockstone
Pitch 2: Up left angle, up and around, and then over 5.7 slab crux. seems really unprotected. But lots of pitons all through this pitch
Pitch 3 Walk up gulley
Pitch 4: Really loose rock and was hard to find spot to anchor. limited areas to add protection. straight up and then belayed on big flat ledge area to right.
Pitch 5: started straight up. (matt went to rap station to right. We went straight up and then headed left into little gully, past rap anchors. Set gear anchor at bottom of little gully/chimney with off-width chimney to right and slab to left. (OFF ROUTE )(We should have gone a little right and then straight up at this pitch)
Pitch 6: NOT a 5.6 move for us. Slab face on left with little footholds and limited hands. Slab face. Definitely off route.Got to summit after small scramble and setting fixed line.
