Ascent Trip Report

Not sure of the exact date on this one but we did this hike 2 weeks before going to the Grand Canyon as preparation for it. The roundtrip mileage on this hike was something like 18 or 19 miles. And the accumulated elevation gain was nearly 6,000 feet. We started at the Sabino Canyon parking lot at 7 am and hiked up the Esperero trail. We didn't get back to the vehicle until after 11 pm that night. Without a doubt, this was the longest, hardest hike of my life!! Amazing rock formations way up high. Bring A LOT of water or filter from the streams if there's any running water when you go. This hike would be better split into 2 days.
