Ascent Trip Report

This was about the gazillionth time I've climbed this mountain, and the second time when it was snowy and icy. I used microspikes this time, to practice for other icy trails and potentially more glaciated mountains in the Cascades some day. The spikes were not absolutely necessary, but I was glad to have them near the summit.

I ran into a family from Missouri at the trailhead and offered to guide them up the peak, since I had experience with this trail and the AllTrails route for good measure. Up until tree line, the trail was obvious, but branched off into competing sets of footprints. On the way down we nearly lost the true trail, but AllTrails showed the correct path and we made it down with no diversions, slips, or postholing. This marked my final "winter" ascent for the year. I'll have to try something more challenging next year!
