Ascent Trip ReportCamped by Lake Myrtle the night before summit attempt. Fantastic camping spot! On summit in the morning. Atmospheric setting with fog and 40kph wind gusts that allowed for visibility no more than 20m at times. Made for interesting terrain and navigation. Unfortunately, zero views from summit. Hot tip: just follow your senses (or a map) and make a beeline for the summit once out of the scrub (from either route) - cairns on rocks are useless and all over the place. Route finding easy enough with heavy fog - so can only get easier without :-) |
