Ascent Trip ReportHarder than I anticipated. Misty in the morning made initial navigation tricky as I didn’t get on to the escarpment until much later. Ribbons are tightly wrapped around; follow them along with cairns to get out of the initial scrub/dead scrub section - I didn’t, sticking to open country and eventually found a much harder way of getting up the escarpment. Mist lifted later but the summit itself was in low cloud so missed out on views. Stumbled back to the car clumsily (just me or the terrain?) with several falls and trips over bogs and burnt vegetation - type II fun, but may have been better on another day. |
