Ascent Trip Report13401, Cleveland Pk, 13384, and ¨Dead Man Pk¨ from the Music Pass TH.
The 3ish miles of road from Grape Creek TH to Music Pass TH has been improved since 2019 and is subaruable but you would not want to drive it if wet!
This was a long day on more involved ridges than either Benito or I had expected. Snow and sustained 30+ mph winds kicked our bums. Expect this to be a full day endeavor.
Vert measured between 7500-9000 ft (upper estimate was measured from Ben´s gps). The crux is gaining 13401. In summer conditions our ascent route up a C3 gully would have been better but the holds are untrustworthy and there are not many good places for feet either. We put on our microspikes here because the steep grass was covered in snow and slippery. Our descent path was a short and unpleasant bushwhack while working through small cliffs. |
