Ascent Trip ReportMeysan Lakes TH ~8100', followed trail, hit snow at about 9700', ice axe for steep slopes, climbed with full winter packs to camp at 10,900'. Very windy, about 18 degrees at Happy Hour. Wind gusting eventually to 60MPH. Started snowing at 1am. Wind gusts continued. Called climb off. Packed at 8:30am, 10 degrees, snowing, very low visibility. Glissaded most of the way down to dirt where we rejoined trail. Out at noon. Weather cleared, but wind still obviously gusting at summit. |
