Ascent Trip ReportWe rested after arriving in Salt Lake City, tired after Rainier. We stayed at a hotel for three days, visiting the Antelope Island in Grand Salt Lake and also the huge Kennecott Utah Copper's Bingham Canyon Mine. It is hot in Utah in July.
We left the heat and headed North, into Idaho. Passed Atomic City and followed US93 to just West of Borah Peak. Camped at the trailhead. It was warm also in Idaho and we started in alpine style again, with the headlamps, poles, t-shirts and shorts. The scramble up the ridge was no problem and the little step didn't have much snow. Easy scramble to the top and #46 in the bag. After descending back to the camp, Eva asked which was the Chicken Out Ridge! Drove from Idaho to Bozeman in Montana. A nice little town.
